nightslayer - Well last night I sat on stand for 1 1/2 hours in 28 degrees and only saw a rat which was to brief to shoot at. However, I did have my scope lock up and not allow me to turn it off without turning off the external battery pack. Once I did the sight picture came back with no cross hair? OK, well I turned off the scope itself once again nuc'd and then the cross hair came back. However this time the compass was not present? After three or four more manual on/off's the compass came back. Funny thing was that when the compass did come back it wasn't auto adjusting for the wind speed and direction I had placed in it earlier? Ballistic Calculator was on but showing ZERO wind adj? I am going to confirm my 50 yard zero tonight and get on stand again and hope to get it functioning correctly because it's windy here and I have a few small targets at distance needing to get whacked and stacked!

Dr. I think that ambient temperature changes are causing our scopes to go haywire!!! I own the thor 384 5x and have noticed the image quality to drastically change with the temperature "change", not necessarily current temps, but major changes. My own scope had the best image quality right after I updated to version .556. When I updated .702, image quality went to CRAP! I automatically assumed that the firmware was to blame. To make the longest of stories short, I have had good images for two weeks at a relatively cold range from 10-25 degrees Fahrenheit. As of two days ago the quality has tanked again, the temps rose into the 30s and have steadily climbed to almost 65!!! Im not grumbling about the "subtropical" weather, but I can honestly say that drastic temp changes are affecting my scope big time. Im going to put some time in this weekend and hopefully snipe some vermin. I feel confident that the image quality will return but am curious as to how long the scope will take to "adjust". Good luck with your issues and keep a check on temperature range just to see if it might be affecting yours in the same way it does mine. Good luck and Good hunting!

Good to hear - maybe a future work around if others face the same issue.

Odin - If I can't get my ballistic computer working it will prevent a future sale of the laser that pairs with it via WiFi ;o) I am sure I am not alone and if not able to be corrected via software update I'll need to send my scope in as I NEED this function working I really use it allot.

My theory on temperature change is proving to be the issue that caused terrible image quality! I went out earlier to try out a new cartridge and image quality was poor at best. The temp was right at 31 degrees Fahrenheit today and 63 degrees two days ago. The sight picture was grainy even with a pixel correction and multiple NUCs. After twenty minutes or so I decided to turn off the device and immediately turn it back on. The clarity returned with a crisp, clear image! So to put it into a scientific perspective, the device took twenty-two minutes exactly to "acclimate" to a thirty-six degree temp swing. Dr. I haven't used the ballistic calculator enough to offer any suggestions but I feel your pain, I too will eventually sell my 384 1.3-5x and upgrade to a larger magnification scope. I will begin to play around with all the features the THOR has and hopefully can give you some feedback A.S.A.P! Also does the ballistic calculator require real time entry of current parameters such as, wind speed, temp, humidity, into a wi-fi connected device, or does the THOR gather this information by itself? Good luck with your issues and hopefully someone will offer some advice.
