For a newbie that has only had his X-sight II for 3 days what is the exact purpose of the sunshade with the hole in it? I haven't seen anywhere that has it's intended purpose listed or explained?

NC, Other members can give you a thorough scientific explanation, but the bottom line is the diameter of the opening allows in an optimal amount of light during daylight hours. This helps keep the digital image from washing out from too much light being collected.
It's not recommended for nighttime use, but I guess each user can determine what levels of brightness, etc works for them.

For a newbie that has only had his X-sight II for 3 days what is the exact purpose of the sunshade with the hole in it? I haven't seen anywhere that has it's intended purpose listed or explained? It can actually extend the focal range and make focusing on your target much easier. I pretty much leave mine on all the time. Day or Nite. Shoot Straight
