Hi Guys n Gals, We have just started using Tuna Oil to bring hogs out of the scrub to a killing area. Don't know about where you are but here in NZ at your local fishing tackle shop you can get 1 liter bottles of tuna oil to put with your bait to enhance its oil levels and scent. We just put a drawing pin through the lid to make a pin hole, walk along the scrub line with a favorable wind squirting a fine stream of oil onto the ground. The scent wafts into the scrub and brings the pigs out. They will then follow the scent line to where you choose to end it. Have even watched them follow it on a big spiral into bait in the center. Then if you have setup right - you got dead hogs. If you are fully suppressed - lots of dead hogs. I reckon it is better than using dogs to locate them as you end up with unstressed meat. Cheers odin

In Texas we try and keep them away as they are a major problem. In the past we have baited for them when the numbers were lower now we have to regulate our deer feeders to keep them from living on our land.
We used to bury bait 2-3 days prior to a hunt and re-bait the day prior pretty heavy. We typically buried the bait in 5-6 holes 1-2 foot deep.
Bait we used(split in 2 5 gallon buckets and ferment outside for 1 week prior to placement): 50 lbs deer corn 5 lbs oats 4 packs of koolaid 5 lbs of sugar 1/2 gallon milk 2 packs bakers yeast top off with water
