I purchased the power pack for my sight ll to go on my AR-15 and I can't seem to get it to fit properly on the butt stock. I have never see such a collection of Velcro strips but they just don't seem to fit correctly. If any has figured out the proper way to attach this please share.

It depends on what stock you are using Its made for a traditional hunting/rifle stock My AR uses a PRS stock and what I did was get the surplus 30 rd mag butt stock pouch and slightly rearranged the straps to fit the PRS The pouch is actually for the A2 stock but may fit yours without mod The battery fits in perfectly and there's a small loop on the flap that I ran the cord through to keep it out of the way Got the pouch from Midway $10 new look under surplus

I purchased the power pack to go on my ARs. Very disappointed in the product. Cannot charge the rifle with the bag attached to weapon. Big fail on ATN part. Will fit a regular rifle stock just fine. Should have noted that it will not fit collapsible AR stocks.

There have also been multiple reports of the bag getting in the way of the charging handle.

My bag gets in the way of my charging handle! I did get the bag to fit my 6 position stock, but I have to move the stock out to charge the rifle. The only good thing is that after the first charge, I don't have to charge it again (locks open on last round). This is not a deal breaker for me, but it could/should have a better design...

After reading all the reports of the Power Pack interfering with the charging handle, I purchased a butt stock magazine pouch and a 10000mAh PowerAdd battery that fits perfectly. In fact, I bought two batteries--One as spare. The magazine pouch also has an abundance of Velcro straps. I ended up using just the front and rear straps. The two that are supposed to loop around the butt pad can't be used on my AR stock so they're just tucked into loops on the underside of the pouch. It still fits tight with the front and rear straps and the charging handle is usable. The only obstacle I ran into was finding a "Left" right angle micro USB to USB-A cable. Most common cables have a straight connector or a "Right" right angle connector. Both of the latter are useable but I wanted to reduce snag opportunities.
Battery dimensions- L: 5.5" W: 2.9" D: .6" (Wider than a magazine but thinner, so it fits) Battery Weight - 9.2 oz.

I also bought the "recommended power pack and battery pack". Worst 100$ I ever spent. The battery pack is just that, a battery pack. Except it's heavy and cumbersome. And don't try to get any kind of support for it. The carrier gets in the way of the charging handle. on any AR style platform. Just for me personally, I find that 4 Energizer Li-ion AA batteries work well for a couple of hours. I just bought 4 rechargeable one from Amazon and will be giving them a thorough test this weekend. (Energizer Recharge Power Plus AA 2300 mAh Rechargeable Batteries, Pre-Charged, 4 count). A 1/5 the price of the other ones mentioned on this board. If I am sitting in a blind I use a portable USB charger and a long cable. Almost any charger will work, its just needs to put out 5v steady. If you are going to be walking around in the woods for 3-4 hours I would recommend good AA's and a backup set. (Don't go cheap, they will drain really fast. Energizer or Duracell). Or a small portable USB charger and some velcro. At one time I use both at the same time and I think it worked well but that was a few software versions ago, so you might want to try it first. The true check to know if your batteries are going dead is to push the menu button every so often. If the menu comes up you are good to go, if not its time to switch batteries. Turn off the GPS and the RAV and it will save some juice.

It was suggested to me to attach the external battery to the sunshade to keep it out of the way. I have been doing that for both day and night use with good results. You may want to give that a try.

I use 2" wide Velcro and I cut a piece about 5" long (cutting the male & female strips at the same time) and affixed the "male" to my power-pack and the "female" to my stock. Then I just press them together and they WILL NOT come apart until I want them to by "peeling" the power-pack off! Works perfectly for me and keeps the added weight closer to my shoulder instead of having to leverage it way out on the barrel. Erad Attachments:
