You need to preform a hard boot it "physically unplug it from the power source" & give it a minute or 2 to disapate the remaining amount of power across the mother board then replug or replace the battery cap depending on which power source you are using!

P.S. I too have had this problem with the external power pkg. And it don't help that the latest firmware update release in August was supposed to fix it, but instead of fixing that bug it also caused the loss of the shooting solutions icon and function!
