Is the X Sight II compatible with IR Iluminators in the 910nm to 940nm range?

Yes, it's optimised for IR850 but generally works well with 910 and 940 Although these are less intense, if you use them correctly they can increase you kill score. Predators and hogs see IR, and if they have been shot at before under lamp (visible or IR) they will be wary of all light. Hence, I always use 940 on foxes, keep the power on LOW, and have the beam spread to fill FOV
Because this makes it softer and more like moonlight they are not as wary.i pick up their eyeshine and slowy move off them (sudden moves will scare them, as will keeping the light on them for any length of time) Then when I think they are down to my kill zone, I move slowly back into them with the IR, safety off and bang

Thanks redditch.
I have read at other sites that the 910nm and 940nm were not as easily spotted by by the intended quarry. My primary concern was whether the technology in the xSII was capabile of utilizing the higher wavelength IR light.
What type of 940nm lamp / torch are you using? How many watts are needed to give a good target ID out to 200 yards or so? I am trying to determine what torch to purchase.

I use a T50-940nm and keep it on LOW power. Then I focus somewhere between 35 and 50 in GREEN NV (it's not as focus sensitive as b&w I find) and that gives me eye shine out to 180-200 and good ID to around 150-160 and I have the beam on flood to just fill FOV Need more range, then adjust the beam slightly more in, or increase power to medium.

Thanks redditch.
What brand illuminator are you using? I have found quite a variety. I fear that some will not be as reliable as others.

Uniquefire T50-940nm. It does need a bit of work to take the slop out of the head, but that's easy to do and requires no tools, and just some PTFE plumbers tape
You screw the front part of the bell housing off (this is what holds the glass, mind you remove the glass Then you screw the remaining part of the bell housing all the way down onto the battery tube, exposing the IR LED Pill Now the IR LED pill is left hand thread, and you unscrew that and take it off Next you screw the bell housing all the way up the battery tube and take that off Then you put PTFE plumbers Teflon tap all over the entire battery screw thread where the bell housing screws on 5-6 layer deep Now you reassemble in reverse order and all is well They are NOT expensive, and are very good once this modification is done and is what 99% of X-Sight shooters use
