I've only had my X2 for a week although I've used it every night learning the scope. I updated the firmware to the latest version on the website. Considering what I've read above, maybe I'm lucky. I haven't had any issues trying out all the features. My image is clear (after I focus and adjust diopter) as one can expect for digital NV. Wifi connectivity is very good to my iPad and I've found that it is actually easier to make changes using the iPad instead the of the scope using the Obsidian app.
The only hiccup I had was my internal batteries were getting low and I plugged in the battery pack. The scope locked up and while I could see through the viewfinder, none of the features would work including the power button. I disconnected the external power and unscrewed the battery cap. Scope powered off, plugged in external pack, powered up and no more issues. Since then, I have only used external power though.

Scope powered off, plugged in external pack, powered up and no more issues. Since then, I have only used external power though. I've only had mine about four weeks and so far it's working okay. At the moment I'm running the latest firmware version too, 767 I think it is. There are a lot of things I'd like to see changed or added, but from what I've read here, not much chance of that happening. I have the rechargeable AA Lithium batteries installed in my scope and I have an external pack connected most of the time. So far I've never had any issues when plugging in or unplugging the external pack when the scope has been turned on. I've even plugged in the external packs charger when the pack gets low and it's powering the scope. When I'm home and not busy, I leave the scope turned on so it's ready to go. I've noticed that it does not go into sleep mode when plugged into the external pack, that only seems to work when running on the AA batteries only. I would rather it went to sleep no matter what the power source was. Cheers, PB

Any news on a new firmware? I'd sure like to use the latest but the 27yd SSS kills it for me shooting air rifles. Hope they address that.

Hi..............If you get the ballistics rangefinder, it will allow you to go down to 10m. in range. It is very accurate and simple to use.

I’m not spending another $275 for something that Is already in the 600 firmware I’m using. It’s one number in a config file to change if they can’t do it then guess I stay on the older firmware.

How do you know if you have the current firmware installed, where do you go in the scopes options to view what the current firmware on the scope is? Also, should the file be "zipped"? I was going to place the new firmware on my micro SD and it shows it as still zipped. I decided to take it off and just look in the scope when I get it if it needs updated. I really don't want to mess this up!

I really don't want to mess this up! The version number is listed under the "Settings" header in the main settings screen. The file should not be zipped. Each version has a different name, but they all end with a .bin. The most current version file name is xsight2_2_1_07_767.bin. You should read some of the other post concerning firmware, lots of good info in them. Cheers, PB

Here is how it appears, I took it that it was "zipped" due to the image.

Here is how it appears, I took it that it was "zipped" due to the image. It looks like you've downloaded it more than once, the (2) in the file name. Not sure the scope will recognize it with that file name. Rename it using the original name, xsight2_2_1_07_767.bin. As long as the current version is older, the scope should update using that name without issue. Cheers, PB

New to ATN, just opened the box and did the firmware update, no issues. Was a little concerned when I got a must do a hard reboot command but thanks to this site figured it out and all went very smoothly. I did get a high capacity/fast micro SD disk, maybe that helped. Found I needed to order a picatinny extension to get proper eye relief for the AR platform. Can't wait to zero it in and get to play with it for real.

Good afternoon. I'm new to this forum and new to the x-sight II, 5x20. I traded a pistol for mine which seems to be a few years old, 554 firmware. It seems to be working fine, and I'm learning it little by little, but not sure I want to update the FW. Do I really need to since mine is working fine. I understand there's a few features that I don't have, but I'm scared if I brick it ATN won't help since I'm not the original owner. So, is it really worth it to update the FW? What are the advantages of updating? Thanks in advance. Tim

Also new to forum and ATN. Advantages as found on ATN Webpage: www.atncorp.com/firmwareNew Features: New sleep mode, Media gallery Improvements: Ballistic calculation improvement, Stop record when there is no empty space on SD card, Improved functionality. Got a new XII 3-14 few last week. Updated scope firmware v2.1.07.767 on day one. Everything working. As soon as the new Spypoint Andriod hunting tablet arrives, which should be today, I will install the ATN Obsidian Mobile App. That way I can control the scope with the tablet, enter ballistics on profile, etc. etc. see what the scope see's in realtime, videos/photos automatically saved on tablet, less time looking down the scope. Believe up-to-date firmware is best, especially if you plan to use a tablet or a smartphone with the scope. One advantage found right off was the increase zoom from 14x to 35x. Believe ATN is a topnotch company, otherwise I would not be using their products.

Hope we get a firmware with less than 27yd Shooting solution for the airgunners. That and the black screen NV bug are my only complaints.
