Do any of you guys run a back up sight? And if so which type? I have a AR-15 7.62x39 with ATN 5-18 I plan on using this to deer hunt but am concerned with closer yardage shots and quick shots that would not happen with the boot up time the ATN X-Sight requires. Suggestions?

With a battery pack and adjusted brightness and sleep mode settings, you shouldn't need to turn your X-Sight off when in the field, requiring no boot up time.

dollartrifecta: I would suggest get a 45degree pictany rail. I have attached a red dot sight to it. You could also add a smaller scope to it as well. Joe Kriz brings up a good point with putting your camera into sleep mode and getting the extra battery pack. I highly recommend the battery pack. If you go with the battery pack get a good one that is at least 16000mAH for longer lasting life or bigger. I honestly got 25 hours of battery life (i know because I tested it) with one I bought from Best Buy. It ran me 45 bucks. I also had wifi, gps and geo sync on too. I am sure it would have went much longer if I didn't have those on. Keep in mind that I had my x-sight 5-18x on with no sleep mode. It ran for 25 straight hours on a full battery pack charge. I stopped it when it hit 4% battery life left. (Timer went off at 25 hours).
