Being I use my X sight for night time hunting mostly, I realized that there is a lot of light reflected off of my face when getting ready to take a shot with the scope. In total darkness your face will light up and be very visible to what your hunting ( especially when using an illuminator ), Unless you turn the scope on when your lined up with the scope. To remedy this, I use a PVS14 shuttered eye guard that I positioned inside of the factory eye guard. It fits into the grooves and works on the X sight, as well as other NV scopes too. I got mine off of E gads for around $15 shipped.

Liking this fix - military will issue shuttered eye-pieces and as a result I now have a hatred of walking around in darkness...with an illuminated head!
