Is there some good comparison video or pictures to show the difference between the two models? Just trying to decide if the difference is worth double the price. This would be my first thermal sight so not very familiar with the specs. Thanks in advance

This should give you a general idea. The downsized images look a little bit better than they would in real life because the imager noise was downsized with the original image. However they are also downsized to 320, not 384. So again, it gives you a general idea, but not perfect. 384 is enough to do what you need to do. 640 is icing on the cake, it lets you get more useful digital zoom out of the deal, plus it helps you with identifying animals that are far away. This is taken with a 640 imager with a 1X zoom of some pigs about 80 yards away. Same Image downsized to 320 Same Image downsized to 160 Again, taken with a 640 1X zoom. Downsized to 320 Downsized to 160

To me it does not seem like a big difference from the 640 to 320. Those images, are they HD? Y'all think the new Thor HD will be crisper than these images?

I'm torn and trying to decide between the 640HD Thor or the 640 5X. The regular Thor 640 5x is a couple thousand more, with more solid construction. The Thor 640HD is less expensive but I don't see me using any of the features it has over the 640. Confusing decision for a Newb. I'm going to use it for preditor control, like 200 to 300 yard coyotes on the farm.

The Thor HD a very similar thermal detector to the one that took these pictures. It will not be significantly any better/worse. 200 yard shots one a yote are doable with a 640 resolution scope and 2.5X mag. Past that, I'd start to think about a 5X scope. If you look at the thread I posted with pics and video you can get a good idea of what a 250 yard shot looks like in a 2.5x 640 scope. In the video I even zoom in to max digital zoom.
