Bought new X-Sight LTV 3-9--vs my old X-Sighth 2hd

Hi, i now bought a new LTV 3-9, a bit dissepointed, compareded it with my X-Sight 2hd at night on snow, no moon, no ir lamp in use.
With my old X-Sight2hd i would without problem shoot a fox at 60m, but when i look though the new LTV 3-9 it is 100% darknes 🤔had it on the highest light setting, is this really normal ?
When i add ir the LTV has a lot better wiev but i expected it would perform at least as good as my old without ir 😳 i use ir only if i must ! foxes have good eyes.
Your experience / input here ?

Have you set it to night mode, and not day time mode?
