So I have the butler creek flip up cover for my 3-12 sight, drilled a 7/16 hole in it which helped some.. but focus is still not very clear!! I stuck some target dots around the hole while at my range to see if it helped, it did a little so I got another cover I'm going to drill, so my question... How small is your hole?
Anyone come up with the best size to use? I spose after I put the dots around mine the hole was 1/4" ish.. I'm thinking I need even smaller.. what say you?

The hole in the cover? Got that off the FB page
So what can you tell me about getting this thing in better focus at distance?
Cant hit a quarter at 100 yards if I cannot see it!!

3/8 is what most drill out. I just did mine today and it seems to work just fine

Mine is a 1/2" hole in the Butler Creek. Here is a video comparison with and without the 1/2" hole on a bright sunny day. NOTE: NOTE the distances that I included towards the end of the video.

Hi All,
What size cap do you need for the 3-9 lens ?
Would appear you need a #48 Butlercreek for the 5-18.
Thanks yogi

Could not get this scope to focus sharp enough to see small targets, sold it and bought a Trijicon traditional scope. Just cant hit what you cant see!

i don't think the hole size should be the same on the 3x and 5x .. i have the 5x and drilled a hole and could see no difference in the pic what so ever ... definitely not like you see in the video .. but I think he used the 3x.
I also try not to digital zoom as you loose clarity anyways .. that's why i got the 5x to begin with ..
