Hi All, Glad to be here. I have a 5-18 xsight and love it so far. Just have a few questions about it.
The crosshairs are off center and do center after I zoom, I don't see a change in poi but curious if this is the norm?
Running fw 343
When the batteries get a little low Ive noticed that it will shut off with recoil, red oring cap, and sitting on a .308 ar platform.
Can the arms mount be used on it or not , Id like to get one for it if it will work.
Thanks

The reticle will do as you describe and center. the poi will be good no matter the zoom level if it has been zeroed correctly
shut down from recoil on low batteries is normal, thats usually the first indicator before the battery icon.
I will take my A.R.M.S mount off today from another scope and check it for compatibility with the X-Sight 1
Feel free to wonder around and ask if you need anything

The scope has to be optically bore-sight with the POI of the rifle on which it is mounted for the POI to be in the center of the image when zoomed completely out. What you are seeing is the entire image the Objective is projecting on the sensor. The computer then superposes the cross hair electronically on that image. When zeroed, if the image isn't centered with the rifle's bore-sight, the crosshair won't be centered on the image. When you zoom in, with the current firmware, the processor discards part of the image so that the crosshair will appear to be in the center of the image. The crosshair hasn't actually moved, the picture has only been cropped so it appears in the center of what remains of the image. If the scope is close to bore-sight, not much of the image will be cropped and you can call it good. But if there is a mechanical issue with the Weaver rail or the scope mount, you'll need to mechanically shim the scope to bring the POI to the center of the image. One of my rifles is like that. The rail is machined into the upper receiver, so I can't correct it. I have to shim the scope to center the image on the POI when I put it on that rifle. A new, properly machined, upper would be a more expensive fix.

When the scope shuts off during recoil while running on AA batteries, the batteries are rattling around in the battery compartment and momentarily losing electrical contact with the internal spring loaded contacts. Sometimes just tightening the battery compartment cap will tighten things up enough to stop this. But sometimes it won't. Then you need to wrap the individual batteries with paper so that they fit tightly in the compartment. That will stop the rattle and prevent the scope from shutting off under recoil. Or you can just use an external battery pack.

My x sight 5-18 I is zero setted up on 100 meters. Does anybody know how to set up x sight for long shots for example 150, 200, 250...m, because it doesn't have balistic touret?
Thank you in advanced,

Its digital, so very hard to use like ballistic turrets im afraid.. I dont really get it. When you set up your scope reticle on 100 meters, how to you aim 200m targets? (If you aim to center of target, how much does the bullet fall down?)

all depends on the calibre..

if you have a controlled environment , just sight in for whatever distance you are going to shoot .. i use mine to shoot from my cabin to a feeder 175 yards away .. so i sighted it in for that distance ... unfortunately the reticle does not zoom when you zoom in , so having like a mil dot would only work at basic no zoom ... if you shoot a real flat caliber, and not too far away , you can just compensate ... long range .. forget it I use a mil mil scope with a ballistic calculator for anything over 300 yards ... (after about 12" drop it gets harder and harder to get precise)

If you use a ballistic chart, enter your calibre, bullet weight, and BC of bullet, then that will tell you how high or low you will be shooting at any given distance I would advise setting 1-1.5" high at 100 which will then give you a point and shoot for most animals to around 200-250 I would think +- 1.5" over centreline i would use www.gundata.org as my favourite
