Salutations All, I have been unhappy with the mount location of my IR light. Every time I pull the trigger at night the muzzle flash will temporarily blind my XSightHD and the IR reflection from the smoke from the muzzle blast will induce "white-out" conditions for several seconds making follow up shots on target almost impossible. Moving the IR light forward to near the end of the hand guard and offset to the left or right seems to work better but not much. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I doubt you can fix it by changing locations. The smoke is the cause of the reflections, any light shining on it will light it up and blind the scope. The solution is to try a different round. There are rounds that are very dirty and others are clean. You need a cleaner round.

By watching several videos, they say to mount your light under the barrel to alleviate or eliminate this, makes sense.

Mounting torch under the barrel and ahead of scope, puts the light more in-line with crosshairs. Mounting it on the side sometimes put crosshairs in the dark.
