After moving the Red Cross hairs down about a foot to zero, and then pushing the enter button, I thought the cross hairs would then center themselves. But they stay down on the lower part of the screen. They center when I go to 8 power but go back on 4. Normal???

I don't think that is normal. They always re-center on my LT 3-6x

Actually, I believe this is normal. The sensor is fixed in the scope thus so is the image we see. The crosshairs move within the image to match the POI of our particular rifle. The optical scopes we are used to do not work this way.
I've shot the ATN scopes with 300 BO Subsonics to laser-flat 224 Valkyries. The 300 BO especially would have the cursors low in the image as you described. As you magnify the image the software then can adjust the portion of the image you see to re-center the reticle in the display. Zoom back out and the reticle is forced back to the location in the image that zeroing selected as the POI.

I have an ATN LT 4x8. I had the local gun guy mount it on my savage, however he said he was unable to bore sight it. We tried to use a laser, which you can't see with the thermo scope, so I brought it home hoping it would be close, at a short range. It was not. At five yds I'm close to center, but only because I went through 10 rounds bringing up my sight pattern using the one shot zero. Now I'm out of screen as far as the recital goes....it's on the bottom of my viewing ...almost out of sight.....something is wrong....how do I bore sight a thermo scope?. ....red lasers don't work and the gunsmith was no help. What to do? Thank-you!!
