Hi, I am new to ATN and night Vision in general. I finally got my ATN light to work and once I took it outside I could only see for about 50 yards tops. I believe it is the ATN850 light IR light. I need to be able to see at least 100 yards or more enable to see and reach my target of coyotes. Can anyone please help me with this issue at all? I have yet another light coming in but it won’t be here until 11/29 or so. While at short distances I can see well enough I need to be able to reach out there because of the coyote problem that is within 100 to 150 yards from my house. The current IR LIGHT IS Just a standard one with a scope ring made onto it and two screws to tighten once it is adjusted. I have the larger light by ATN but the mount needs work to fit on the rail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to get rid of the coyotes before they end up killing my small dog. Again I am brand new to night vision and to ATN products. PLEASE HELP!!

I have an 850 Pro. Believe it has two or three intensity levels selectable from the on/off tail switch. Believe you might have to loosen the tail switch slightly in order to change the intensity. You can leave it loose, as it has an o-ring inside to stop the ingress of moisture, just don't unscrew it too far or past the o-ring. Once you get it to the setting you want, I believe you can tighten it back down and it will retain that mode during on/off switching. You probably won't need or want to use the brightest tactical mode for yotes. Seems to spook them a bit. Once you select your intensity mode, the focal point of the beam has to be aligned with the scope. There are vertical and horizontal adjustment knobs on the IR light base to accomplish this. Try taking the IR light off and moving it around with your hand. You will find it is more than bright enough to see 3-400 yards at night. Just requires adjusting the ir focal point to the scope. The factory IR light seemed to get me out to 150 yards or so clearly. The 850 PRO is much better light. Almost like daylight. Only green and black or white and black. Definitely has to be aligned with the scope to provide optimum light. Have heard of one guy that mounted an IR light on his hat so he could move it around. Believe it was the smaller factory light. Never tried it. Anyway....hope this helps some.
