Hello all, New user here. I'm hoping I chose the correct location to post this. Here's my issue: I was sighting in the scope today and noticed I was having some ghosting issues when performing the NUC. After getting everything done, I was checking the scope out at night to see if the ghosting continued. Unfortunately, the ghosting is still happening. The ghost image will occur when either starting the unit up or performing the NUC IF there is anything in the field of view that has a temperature difference. So, steps I've taken so far are 1) Updated firmware per instructions from ATN 2) Multiple power cycles on and off obviously 3) Attached the external power supply that's directly from ATN itself just in case the battery has started to fail. Currently, the only work around I've found is to drape a microfiber cloth over the end of the scope so there is a uniform temperature that provides no possible image to leave on the screen. Once I do that, the scope has a wonderfully clear image. This just started today after sighting it in. I took a screen shot to see if it was the screen itself or something else. Hopefully the attached image can be seen. Just wondering if anybody else has any idea what may be happening or have any other ideas. I sent an e-mail to ATN, but it'll be a few days before I hear back I'm assuming.

I had the same problem with my 384 4.5-18. I use my hand to cover the lense when performing a manual nuc because I don’t believe it has an automatic shutter. My 640 has an automatic shutter and you can hear the shutter clicking (opening and closing) when performing a nuc

My 1-10 640 started doing it last night. Its only a few weeks old. According to a quick google search, it needs to be recalibrated, with the front lens covered. Ill play with mine and see if it fixes it.

I sent my Thor 4 1-10 640 back. Too much spent for this fixable issue to exist. Maybe it was just a bad unit. I have tried to replace through Amazon where I bought it and all they did was repackage and return the same unit rather than replace with a new unit which I hoped would not have the same issue. When it worked it was great. I thoroughly read instructions, went on line, followed all procedures to fix using factory reset, reload firmware, etc. All to no avail. Great when it worked.

I have the same issue, but only during the day, when I am sighting in. Odd part is it works good for an hr or so then all of a sudden... "Ghosting"

Mine just started doing this too! Haven't had any issue with it until now. Just all of a sudden started this. 4 months old.

same, 10 month old Thor 4, 4,5-18. Maybe someone found a cure?

Thor 4 640x480 2.5-25x two days old same exact issue. Anyone have a fix, or a response from ATN?

No one has listed the firmware they are using. I have a new Thor 4 640x480 2.5-25x but updated it with the latest firmware (3.3.11.480). I have been hunting 3 times and have not experienced this. Thanks for posting the video, str1t so I know what to look for.

I am also having same ghosting issue on new Thor 640 1 X10. Hard reset does not help. Firmware is current. Compass stuck on north also. When I spin the scope in 3 axis it just gives the red ERR message no Calibrate message. Could not successfully get the ELF Factory firmware file to update, laptop would not connect, gave error message usb device malfunctioned. Not much luck so far with customer service awaiting email response.
