Anyone know if there’s anything but ABL support?

What is ABL support? Mine has worked really well as is. I hate to mess up a good thing. We need guinea pigs. Who's brave?

I almost, instinctively, upgraded yesterday, right when I received the ATN email.. Then I remembered I'm going shooting today and I've been dead on lately. So I didn't. The only thing mentioned in the change log is ABL support. I'm wondering if I need it if I don't know what it is???
Y'all go ahead. Let me know how it goes.

ABL is the newly released Auxiliary Ballistic Rangefinder www.atncorp.com/range-finder-abl-1000. The latest update 2.1.07.779 for the X-Sight II HD lets the two devices pair via Bluetooth.

I went ahead and did it and went predator hunting last night. The scope poweres off on its own in NV mode for some reason. It did it 5 or 6 times. I noticed if I would reaxh out end of rifle for IR light it would shut off. 5 or 6 hard boots and ot didnt do it for the next couple hours. Ive never had this Issue till now. I did the normal update set to defaults hard boot. Change all options back and deleted the firmware off the sd card.
Any more reports?

Thanks for the update! I was also wondering what the update did. I think that I'll pass on doing the update.
I lost faith and trust in ATN ever since they screwed up the minimum range by setting it out to 25 yards. That seems like an easy fix on their part, but apparently they don't give a flip.
ATN, in case you are paying attention, and I'm not holding my breath; how hard would it be to include a short note with an explanation on what the updates do? "ABL Support" doesn't tell me squat.
I like the scope, and I had very good customer service the one time I had an issue with the illuminator. But I am VERY disappointed in ATN's failure to explain what their updates do, and their failure to rectify the minimum range issue.

They wont fix the 27yd range because you need the ATN rangefinders to go below it and that would not sell products. I’m an airgunner and we really need less rhan 27yd ranging calculations. Same for crossbows also, or at least include a mil dot reticle and let us know what zoom its calibrated for.

It is at dark. Ever use a range finder at night? The ABL was the answere but sadly it sucks in cold weather does not work. Have tried 3 different brand lithium batteries still doesnt work in the cold. Aparently the testers all live in Texas and Florida.

I purchased the ABL 1000 and linked it to my X Sight II. It works OK but it eats batteries. I’m only getting between 5 to 20 laser shots before I get the low batt warning and it stops working. I’ve tried lots of different brand Lithion Ion, but no joy. I’ve mailed ATN to try and ascertain if this is a known problem.

ATN does not reply to known problems. If they do, they are admitting something is wrong
