Hi! I'm facing a Hamlet dilemma ... My father's X-Sight II HD exports profiles as xml without any control when they are re-imported in the device. It's very convenient if someone wants to edit the file manually maybe correcting the small discrepancies of the coordinates of the windage ... So I did that on my father's time ago and everything works correctly. I have the problem on the X-Sight 4K Pro ... They added ,in the first line of the xml file, a control code (CRC) and I can't figure out what kind is it. To be able to regenerate it after editing the file. Does any of you know what kind it is Thank you!

I know it's been a while since this post was made, my apologies for the resurrection... But, I'm looking into the same issue and a software tool I use does calculate a CRC. It's called "UltraEdit" and it's available from www.ultraedit.com/.

Ok, but what kind of CRC is that used in the ATN profile file CRC32? No! MD5SUM? No! We need to know what type was used to recalculate it. I also know that ultraedit does it, I used it a long time ago (20 years) but if you don't know what to use, any editor or CRC / ASH generation tool are almost useless. Best Regards Dino

Actually, I'm kicking myself...
I exported the file and immediately imported it just to make sure it wasn't something going on with my card in the scope.
I then copied the single text line, calculated the CRC (32), and that failed to match what ATN had in the file. Then I then added a CR at the end of the text and re-calculated it...it matched the CRC in the original file. I then modified the file then calculated the new CRC and saved it...it imported successfully into my scope and I verified the changes using the scope menu.
So, the file CRC is 32 and needs the extra CR/LF at the end.
Test that and see if that works for you, too...
