This captures what I like about my favorite deer hunting in Kaimanuawas and Kawekas. It is heavy bush and things are real close and exciting. A very alert deer that can just evaporate before your eyes. Big creds for these guys who carry cameras with them in this sort of country.

Yes - about 1/2 the size of a red stag, but they are real aggressive in the roar and will smash a red over with ease. Need to be wary of them when shooting so close - if you hit a branch and dont drop them, they are just as likely to come through at you. Can be adrenaline enhancing at times.

When you are moving through the bush, it is well worth stopping often, especially if you have just passed an open area, as they will often follow you through and keep an eye on you. Sometimes wonder just who is stalking who.
