I have the first and second gen IR illuminators that came stock when I leave the batteries in they empty when switched off in a few days I use my scope a lot this makes readiness a joke when i go to grab my rifle I have to load new cr123s this is expensive too is this your experience too

Me too - I did some bush mechanics and converted mine to run on external usb supply. No problems with batteries been flat now.

If you look inside the torch when switched off you will see that the led is very few illuminated. It means battery consumption. To save batteries you have to take off them. This is my experience. I hope helpful. Bye

I love this one. No issues with battery at all. I had to spin the light as the lens is slightly off Center. That allows you to make your beam direct or ambient. It tended to wash out my targets. Off Center helped a ton.
