Hi, How do I change the profile name? I've got the Obsidian android app, the ATN website says I can edit the profile name there, but cannot find the option to do so...

You must pair your Smart HD Optic to your app. Once done you will have to go to settings and find your optic (Make sure the WiFi is turned on within your scope). Click on the Obsidian App and touch the "Connect Your Device". Once done you will toggle over to profiles in the app and at this point you'll be able to rename your profiles.

There is no "profile" option in the Obsidian application.

Have you checked when paired with the scope? Once paired the settings mirror the settings in your scope. So, oce there and paired you can change the profile name within.

Of course, the scope is paired with tablet, but I have found no way to change the profile name (ATN OBsidian apk) anywhere. There are only units, brightness, shutdown, and so on

Gumbo, yes you can. Download ATN's Obsidian app. They have it available for iOS and Andriod.

I bait rats in and place my gun & THOR in my tripod and lock it in on the bait. I turn on my scope open the app and sit down and watch from my chair. I only get up once they come in to feed and then do my work ;o)

While you might not be able to change the name on your optic or on the Obsidian app you can edit your profiles xml file.
Below is an example (I used colors to make the example easier to read, don't change your color):
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <profile_0><name>BB JSB 81.02</name><drug_function>4</drug_function><bal_coef>0.2600</bal_coef><bullet_weight>81.0000</bullet_weight><init_velocity>955.0000</init_velocity><distance>1.8288</distance><sight_height>0.0000</sight_height><reticleOffset_x>4</reticleOffset_x><reticleOffset_y>60</reticleOffset_y></profile_0> <profiles_created>1</profiles_created>
In the above example, I exported my profiles to the micro sd card via my optic under settings/profiles. Before editing your exported file, I suggest you save you a separate copy of your profile to a backup location just in case you mess up etc and need to start over.
Right click on your exported oprofiles.xml file (yes, its an XML file), click edit and to the right of <name> just change the profile names to what you want your profiles name to be.
In my example, I changed my profile name to be BB JSB 81.02. Repeat the same process for profile 2, 3 etc. When you are done make sure you save your file with the same name...oprofiles.xml (your file name might vary)...the .xml is important in the file name...don't save as .txt (text file).
The reason I used BB JSB 81.02 as my profile name is BB=Benjamin Bulldog, JSB = JSB pellets and 81.02 = 81.02 grain. Note profile_0 is your current profile and can be the same as profile 1, 2, 3 , 4 etc. Whatever you want your current profile to be.
Its not complicated once you get the concept. Hopes this helps.
