I just received my scope and X-Trac remote access control today. I'm trying to turn on Bluetooth, so I can pair the X-Trac to the scope. I cannot turn on pairing. - Enter system settings - okay, working fine
- Select Settings Category - okay, working fine
- Select WiFi/Bluetooth - okay, working fine
- Select Remote Controller - okay, working fine - the Pair and Unpair options are now display - the Pair option is now shown in a bold red font
- Select Pair (push the OK button) - the Pair and Unpair options disappear and the Remote Controller option is now shown in a bold red font
- Press the OK button again - the Pair and Unpair options are now display - the Pair option is now shown in a bold red font
- I have not figured out any method for selecting the Pair option that gets the half circle rotating around the Bluetooth icon (I can select Unpair without the screen returning to the Remote Controller option, but that's of no help)
Any help in getting Bluetooth pairing turned on will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Andrew

Well, you got further than I did. I tried to pair my ATN range finder to my new 4K Pro. I can select wi-fi/blutooth, but at that point, when I push OK, it just goes back to the main menu. So frustrating. Stupid buttons. Sometimes pushing OK just turns on video record, push button again, get message on screen "do I want to turn off record" Hell yea, I did not even want to turn it on. Then back through the menu, trying again. Scroll wheel sometimes works, sometimes works too much, hard to tell where it is going in the menu. Had a new problem last evening, no holding zero? ? We should be getting paid for being "TESTERS" NOT buyers. If ATN had sent me this 4K Pro FREE, for a test, I would have already sent it back, with a note saying, "TRY AGAIN" heck, maybe the third time would be the charm? ? But wait, we had the X-sight, X-sightll and now this useless thing, so I guess it's 3 strikes and out. I'm going to look at Optic Planet's return policy.

Yeah, the scroll wheel definitely doesn't scroll smoothly. As for the OK button, when pressed, it sounds like I'm pressing more than one button underneath. But it works to Select on prior and other menus, just not the pairing menus. (Sigh.) I'm not ready to send it back yet, but it is frustrating. Menu navigation is fundamental coding. Their method for item selection isn't consistent. It should be method for, not methods for.

Im new to the forum and just got my 4KPro 5x20. Everything sets up fine but could not pair rangefinder. locked up and had to do hard reset when I trued to pair it. obsidean 4 works good on phone and changes are sent to the scope just fine. BUT every time I turn the scope off, no setting are saved. I have to set everything up all over again when I turn the scope back on. The type of scope, calibrate compass, ect has to be re-entered like its fresh out of the box every time I turn it back on. My scope came with proper firmware listed so I didnt add the firmware via the SD card. could this be the problem? HELP if you have any

Mine also came with the current firmware. However, I went ahead and followed the process. The scope did not go the process of updating the firmware. Perhaps since they wrote the instructions, they have changed the process so that the scope doesn't reload the firmware when the existing firmware is the same. I'm not sure that's a good idea, but following the process to the letter the scope never loaded the firmware on the card. However, I did perform a factory reset.
Obsidean 4 works okay for all that I've attempted. To help troubleshoot your issue, I turned on the scope and verified that my X-Trac setup had the wheel at the "Back". I then exited settings and used Obsidean 4 to change the wheel to "Front". I returned to settings and found the wheel setting had successfully been changed to "Front". I turned off the scope, turned it back on, and checked the settings again. The wheel setting had remained at "Front". While doing this I also checked the initial environmental settings. I used autosync on Obsidean 4 to change the settings. They were both successfully changed on the scope and persisted after turning the scope off and then back on again. Other than with the compass calibration, I have never had an issue with settings not persisting between uses. Tonight I'm going to load some ballistics information and tomorrow I'm going to try and get out to zero the scope. Hopefully, these settings will persist as well.
This morning I sent ATN an email with the information I posted above and asked if they had any way to force pairing to start for both the remote and the rangefinder. I have not yet heard back from them.
You might format an SD card (not Quick Format), place the .bin file on it, and follow the procedure just to see if it makes a difference. But before, be sure you've performed the factory reset.
Dave, I hope this helps.

Not sure if this will help but i thought i read somewhere that bluetooth is not working yet on 4k pro, along with other features. I could be wrong but i could swear i read that somewhere.

mbkustom, thank you. Honestly, it seems pretty obvious at this point, after reading other posts by folks with the same or similar issues. It seems ATN continues to live up to its reputation.

Yes, im pretty disappointed in how atn does business. The 4k pro sure sounds promising reading the info they put out. Unfortunetely all they seem to deliver is high hopes and a half ready device that may need to be updated many times to get the bugs out. And who knows if they will actually get it right completely before they release another hyped up model with the same issues. I was thinking about getting a 4k pro but now im rethinking and looking at a sightmark photon. Less features available but from what i have researched there pretty good NV scopes and customer service is supposed to be 100 times better. Its too bad because i do like the features offered by atn.

I wouldn't even have that great of issues of having an incomplete product, if only the advertising were honest. For example, they could have just said up front that 'the device is Bluetooth equipped, not yet activated, but with activation and support of external Bluetooth accessories anticipated June 2018' or some such verbiage. I'd likely have still purchased the scope, but not (yet) the X-Track or Rangefinder that I've paid for, but can't use until who knows when. Now, I've just been deliberately ripped off and now I'm pissed off. Hopefully, the product will turn out as advertised in the next few months. But even if it does, this introduction will have soured me on the brand. I'm going to try and get out tomorrow to zero the scope. Hopefully that works. Then I'll try to get out and try the (now manual) ballistics features. If all that works as advertised then at least I can put the scope to good use. From my brief trial last night, the optics and night vision seem excellent. I've only paid a few hundred for accessories I can't use. Grrrr.

I'm in the same boat. I'm doing a series of videos about this product and did more filming last night. The one shot zero didn't work at all. Well, mainly because I went to an indoor range and it wasn't on a 36 x 48 cardboard at 100 Y. Being at an indoor range, I couldn't see impact and make any correction at all. It wasn't "on paper" until I brought the target in to 15 Y!
I took it outdoors last night and was able to get it dialed in. The rangefinder function worked well on a 30" target at 360 Y and 540 Y. That was impressive. 55g, guessed MV @ 2750 since it's a 14.5" barrel and got 2nd round hits at that distance on each target. I'll have those videos up on my channel this coming week.
I'm pretty disappointed watching the videos back this morning. The reticle in the video is WAY off from where it was looking through the optic. It appears as if I'm aiming two feet left and one foot above. I was also getting tons of error messages about the SD card (which is the exact one they say to use) and the scope didn't record more than half of the videos. For me as a hunter, this is super annoying. I'd hate to miss my "once in a lifetime" hunt! The shot activated video also did not work. It only took one second well after the shot broke. Not useable at all.
I'm testing different IR lights but NOT impressed with night quality so far at all...

Ok so I just picked up my ballistic 1000 and trying to get it to pair to my X-sight 4kPRO. My bluetooth Icon was blue and in the midst of trying to find the rangerfinder location in the scope it has now turned red and still no location of the rangerfinder to get it to pair. Can anyone help with this?

I don't think the blue tooth is active in the 4K yet, hopefully the next firmware update will allow us to pair the ballistic range finder to the 4K.

I really hope so. I had the photon and was very impressed with the clarity and how easy it was to use. What I didn't like is the fact you couldn't zoom in, so I went to ATN. But at this point I feel as though I overpaid for false advertisement.

I have the 4KPro and my BT and WiFi works fine. The roller does have to be waken up some times.
