YOU SURE THEY DIDN'T SMELL YOU....DEER ARE COLOR BLIND...ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT HUNTING NOT SHOOTING..

Yes, hogs and deer can see the IR emitter. To see what they see, go downrange 50 yds and have someone point the IR emitter at you and turn it on. You will see a red light( when its a 850nm IR). They just see a light in contrast to the dark. The turn on and movement of the IR emitter can catch their attention. The reaction(on hogs and deer)....some don't care, some leave immediately, some just keep watching the "light" and act nervous and some come right to you to check out what's making the light. Thankfully most don't bolt and run. The farther away they are from the light, the less they seem to notice. If they are facing away, when you turn on the light...they don't seem to notice. These are just my experiences.

My IR atn is efficient less than 100 yards.Any suggestion to change it ? I would be happy to have an Illuminator efficient over 200 yards

I have upgraded to the ATN IR850 Pro that works well out to 150+ yards. It seems to be at least twice the range of the included IR light. If you wan to spend a lot more you could get the IR850 Supernova. but I would try some other brands before I spent that much. If you are worried about spooking the game, get a 940nm IR but they don't have the range of the 850nm IR.

Thank you Jim for your interesting answer, I've read "IR850 infrared illuminator lets you have 300 meters of effective range in total darkness" 300 m or 150 yards ?

I have only used it out to 150 yards where I hog hunt and it worked fine. Where we hunt there are tree lines the limit our hunting distances to 150 yards as we only shoot in a couple of directions to prevent shooting towards neighbors properties.
