Anyone know why the X=TRAC is delayed (again)? I thought it was supposed to be released in early April so I put in a pre-order. It was delayed to the end of April and now that has come on gone. What's up wit dat?

The X-Trac has been out since December. Out where? I think you're mistaking it for something else. I haven't been able to find it being sold anywhere. I had a preorder in and it keeps getting extended. Even the ATN site still says "Coming Soon".

I figured that's all you were doing. Sure, they offer them for sale but check availability. You get put on a waiting list.
The ship date keeps getting pushed out. The "offering" below from Optics Planet has changed many times since March.

Welp that is interesting. I was sure I had seen other folks post about the X-Trac but my search shows that they were just asking the same question you are asking. So sorry about that. I'm not interested in getting anymore ATN products so I just made the mistake of assuming that the X-Sight is the only product that they are that screwed up on.

ATN online store is very rudimentary. It does not tell you if what you are purchasing is in-stock or not and if you buy something that is not in-stock, it will not tell you that either. Nor does their store update to reflect when product finally ships, etc.

Received an email from ATN this morning saying the following:
"After an incredible Shot Show and feedback from our customers. We knew we got it right, this much anticipated system will improve your speed in navigating your ATN Smart HD optic. You can use the Zoom Roller to smoothly magnify your target. Or use the Home button to instantly go back to the home screen from any menu. You can even activate Video Recording or Still Image Capture with the X-Trac. Now you will barely touch the scope, except to focus it. If you haven’t taken a look at it yet, you should definitely check it out. Available now!"
Good luck.

Ho hum... more eye candy for your favorite AR platform. Start with a six pound rifle and when you are done you to will have a 14 pound POS that you can't carry, can't point, and which won't shoot a damn bit better... but just think how cool you will look at teh bench on teh range!

More than just eye candy. It's functional, makes the scope easier to use and weighs less than two ounces. That's less than the candy bar you have in your pocket.

By the way, wasn't the Shot Show was back in January? They're just now sending an Email?
I expect the roller Zoom to get a lot of use on mine. I would have bought the X-Trac if that was the only button on it. The rest are a bonus. Especially the photo and video buttons. If there's a photo/video worthy event going on, I sure don't want to take my hand off the rifle to get it.
Typical of other peoples view; "My updates and enhancements add functionality and extend utility while yours are just frivolous attempts to show off."

More than just eye candy. It's functional, makes the scope easier to use and weighs less than two ounces. That's less than the candy bar you have in your pocket. You assume that it actually works and does not introduce new "features" into the system. With ATN that is a pretty big assumption. It is two ounces more than I need to strap on my rifle and carry around. It adds a new battery consumer into the mix. No doubt someone will figure out that they can use the battery pack they strapped onto their rifle to power it with thus and such a modification. But hey, why worry about spending money fixing the firmware on an 18 month old product to make it do what you advertised when you can spend it bringing more half baked hardware to market? There will always be someone coming along with starry eyes, high on the "cool" factor. Let's not worry about fixing the existing software applications when we can get more hardware sold to the unsuspecting. Ayup, I'd rather have the candy bar in my pocket. I'm pretty sure that the vendor that made it isn't lying about how suitable it is for it's purpose.

Typical of other peoples view; "My updates and enhancements add functionality and extend utility while yours are just frivolous attempts to show off." It's called an opinion. The nice thing about opinions is that everyone has one. Some opinions are informed, some opinions, not so much. The X-Trac adds another device into a mix of devices which are already not working properly. There are problems with the smart phone app. There are problems with the X-Sight firmware and each release adds as many problems as it fixes. There are problems with the advertised specs of the LRF, sure you can range a semi-trailer at 1500 meters with an LRF1500 but try to range any furry creature at that range, I don't care if that furry creature is a Kodiak bear. Of all the three the LRF seems to be the most stable and that is probably because it does so little other than tell the X-Sight range to target. More power to you if you want to add that new device. All it has to do is remote the keypad to a bluetooth device. In any other scenario I would say that was a trivial problem, but I've been watching how the firmware debugging process works at ATN, or rather DOES NOT work at ATN. Some day that X-Trac is going to be on the ground two miles from wherever you are when you notice you snagged it on a bush, so good luck finding it. I give two weeks and the first bugs will show up...

x-trac question. ok its now december of 2017 and have not heard of anyone posting about how it works or doesnt work. i purchased my x-sight mid november and seen the offer for a free x-trac if purchased between a certian timeframe. sent my rebate info less than a week after recieving my scope and havent heard anything from them since. now it being December are they even out yet? does anyone have one? does it work? like a few comments on here if it only had the zoom function i would be happy. have used my x-sight mounted to my crossbow and now switched it to my AR for coyote hunting. the x-sight has worked flawlessly and the one shot zero worked fantastic even though i went through at least 20, 223 rounds while fine tuning the sight and having fun doing it. hoping the x-trac will be shipping soon as i think this would be a nice thing to compliment the x-sight. my longest shot around here is less than 200 yards due to private property and my age being able to even see that far..LOL never even thought of trying to hit something 600-1000 yards away and dont need to as i like to be up close and personal when shooting at something. guess its the bowhunter in me.

Got mine from the rebate. It works just like the scope but you can exit back to crosshairs with a button push without having to move to exit icon. and there is a 1 button push from 3X to 14X zoom. Would like that to be more usable to like 3X 6X 10x 14X. Room for improvement. Not sure how much I care for the zoom wheel it’s rather slow but more precise.

Personally, and from an actual field experience standpoint, I think the X-TRAC works great with the X-Sight II 5~20. And it actually DOES add both local and remote functionality to the X-Sight. Obviously mine is also just an opinion as well. However, I do actually own an X-TRAC and the X2 5~20. And use them both quite regularly. I'm sure there's better, but awesome smart scope.
Wouldn't go out without the X-TRAC now. Even going thru zeroing and setups. Surfing the picture gallery on an HDMI monitor with the X-TRAC is a breeze. Or just using the micro zoom steps on the roller. Can't do that on your scope. The roller can also be used as a scroll while in the menu screens. Additional functionality to the scope. Home button is awesome. Beats pushing back, back, back, back, on the scope while trying to stay on target. So much easier. Takes you right back to your target. Pushing that same 'Home' button on the X-TRAC while at the main viewing screen also toggles the view between high and low magnification, 3~14x or 5~20x, depending on your scope. Also a Kool feature not on the scope. Again, that's just an opinion/documentation born of my own personal field experiences. Not someone else's opinion morphed into my own. Taking your hand off the weapon to push buttons on your scope is OK too. I guess. I prefer the X-TRAC alternative.
Don't panic. Losing the X-TRAC does absolutely nothing to your set up and doesn't affect anything. The scope still functions as designed. Put one of those cheap $2 blue tooth key finders on the X-TRAC if you're worried about losing it. I tie a piece of bright orange reflective paracord or clip on a reflective trail maker on anything I want to locate in the woods once dropped. Go back with a flashlight.
Now...Losing the eyepiece....that might be an issue. Lights up your face.
Don't care about the bling aspect. I hope nobody sees me in the hide anyway. (However, If they do, I surely look good sporting an ATN smart scope) Blood on the ground and meat in the freezer is the primary objective. The ATN X-Sight II w/ 850 IR PRO, an ATN 20000mah external power pack, and X-TRAC get me there. Day or Nite. We all have to make choices. Choose Wisely. If it works for you and it's better than what you run, go for it. If it's not better, don't waste your time. Run what you brung.
Blue tooth range finder is next on my list. Probably hand held.
Sooo....That's my field-experienced opinion with the X-TRAC. Take it with a grain of salt.
Shoot Straight
