Question - maybe somebody can help: My MARS/THOR 640 2,5-20 with 50mm optic can’t hold the zero point; It is mounted on a steyr in caliber .223 rem; the rifle shoots with the normal optic and X-Sight perfect; With the MARS it does not hit the darget a few days and shoots after zeroing and needs to be rezeroed ... We zeroed some times and have always different values: DATE X Y 1st 25 25 13.02.2017 -3 34 26.03.2017 35 24 12.04.2017 33 23 26.04.2017 29 33 X-sight and normal optical scope needs not to be changed and hits perfect on the same gun, same ammunition; On the MARS everything is fastened nothing is loose or moves and BC is off, newest firmware .... Tried also factory reset and another mount (a.r.m.s #17DL) ... same problem ... I have no idea what can be wrong - has anybody an idea??

You must be getting movement in the mount or your zeroing procedure/setup/ammo is changing. How you set up to zero affects how the rounds hit the target. If it's not the same each time, the zero will be different. I leaned this first hand using a Caswell's Lead Sled and other setups. I was getting flyers until I realized I had the front of the rifle strapped down. In the picture below, you can see the Velcro strap loose at the forward support. I tried several different setups using the sled, bipod and sand bags. Each one gave a slightly different zero depending on where the rifle was supported but they, like yours, were pretty close. I finally settled on a zero using the sled since the forward location is most likely where the rifle would be supported in the field. Either by holding, supported in a blind or using a standing field bipod.
A note: Even removing the IR illuminator changes the zero.

I know this all. Configuration is always exact the same and if i zero it and shot 10 or 20 times after zeroing it works. But 2 weeks later it dont and I have to zero again. And ... The same rifle with x-sight or optical scope works always ... Never needs a new zero ....

Dont assume there is movement in the mount. Id check it but if you have everything tight send it back. Dont waste anymore time. Its a bad scope. I had an x2 that I wasted a few hundred dollars in ammo and a heck of alot of time wasted assuming it was user error or something loose. Turned out it was a bad scope. ALot of them out there. Mine wouldnt shoot groups period and threw a shot a foot or more high randomly. Most end up on ebay or Amazon and are sold as store returns. Alot come striaght from the facvtory just bad and wont hold zero. Happens more than you hear about. Happened to me. Only buy from approved vendors and only buy new. Otherwise you could end up wasting time and money for nothing.

texasken i have an x1 that none of those conditions you describe effect it or the zero. Its all on all the time, either hanging out of a stand to shoot or laying with a bipod. IR on or off. day or night doesnt effect my x1 zero.
