From the factory, my Sport II trigger had about 6.5 pound pull. That wasn't bad as far as I was concerned but I could feel steps in it when sighting in the new X-Sight II. I like a smooth continuous pull before the bang so the steps were not only irritating but also threw my shots. I tried oil then gun grease but it still had the jerky steps before the bang. And I wasn't about to pay $150-$200 for new after market trigger group. I'd rather spend that on ammo. A quick search on YouTube showed some simple, but critical, mods to the trigger group. Since I had been through this with the Shield 9mm a couple of months ago, I felt up to the task.
A little hand stoning to take out machine marks and some time with a Dremel and polish wheel proved to be a huge benefit. After cleaning the parts with lacquer thinner, I sprayed the contact points, pins and the disconnector with Moly spray. I also opened the spring coils so I could coat them with moly. After reassembly, trigger pull dropped to 4.5 pounds and it's smooth as silk. No more steps! Yeah! And I saved $200!

Sounds interesting. Would you mind sharing some pics of the effected areas? So where to stone and where to polish? Much appreciated.
