Hi guys ,being new to this forum just wondered the best type of batteries to use in the x sight 2.

I would suggest an external battery pack. If you want to use AA size batteries get some good rechargeable ones or quality batteries and keep a spare set for longer sessions.

If you want to try AA batteries, Rambo 4027, most seem to prefer the Kentli type. Bought 4, with USB charger that holds all 4, $45 on Amazon. Just search "Kentli" -- or "AA rechargeable" to see a variety. For the illuminator, ATN recommends lithium CR123A throw-aways, all things considered.
