Cable? Are you talking about an internal cable in the sight? I think he's referring to the USB cable from an external power pack.

Yes, have tried push/hold of the pwr button up to 20sec to no avail. The screen remains dead. I received a tip to attempt hooking the sight up to a TV using a hdmi cable. According to a UK tech rep there could be instances where you get picture via hdmi, but nothing on the internal screen. Will try this tonight.

Quick registration so I can post what worked for me.... only fair So I was upgrading my 5-20 X sight and it failed after the ATN screen - ie black screen. So I did the above methods including trying new cards and formatting but didn't really work. I could hear the clicking after holding Enter+Right so I knew it was doing something and not completely dead. I did this sequence several times but didn't have any luck. It's almost like it's just lost it's GUI (graphical user interface) but everything was still working because when I pressing random buttons I managed to get two things up - the photo gallery and then another time it went into a fail-safe mode. So to get it into failsafe mode, I pressed POWER (after complete battery disconnect) and whilst it was booting I kept pressing power and enter. It seemed to fail-safe into the menu which then I could reload factory defaults and reboot and everything was awesome. Failing to do this factory reset and reboot properly (ie on my first attempt because the batteries went flat at the exact moment I got into the fail-safe menu) meant it went back into useless mode (black after the ATN). So it took me another 10 mins of pressing various keys on boot up to figure out what I'd done the first time. So in summary:
USB power connected Power up with power button as normal Press enter and power one after another whilst it's booting up (I can't do mine again as it's now working to confirm but it's either a combination of power and enter, or enter by itself) Do a factory return to default settings Press power to do a nice shutdown Fixed! Good luck. Youtube message me - bazzasti is my youtube channel if you need to discuss.
