The clarity is poor on my nv mode on my 3x14 x sight 2. The white setting is more clear than the green, but when I put my light sensitivity to high, the screen went black? Medium and low would show picture. I also had the ir850; that atn sent me with the scope, attached to the rail on the scope, and all the ir light setting are too much for the scope. I moved the light back and forth on the rail but not much difference. Haven't moved the ring that hold the ir light tho. I think my clarity was better without the ir light. Trees 50 yards away weren't too clear or distinct, which I figured they would be semi clear. Any thoughts?

You need to take the time to align and focus the IR to the scope. Start with the IR away from the scope, set scope to medium sensitivity. Shine the IR around while looking through the scope. Your focus at night is vital as there is a very limited depth of field. hopefully you have removed the cap with the small hole in it (only use this during the day) Once you have established your focus and the the IR is shining in your field of view put the IR onto the rifle and align/focus the beam to the field of view at base mag. The results should stun you - it is all in the setup.

Did you have better luck with the ir light attached to the end of your barrel, or on the scope?

Benerwin, my first ATN was the 1st gen Xsight, and based on the placement of the focus ring, I found mounting the IR on the forestock best. Allowed me to access the focus ring unencumbered as well as putting the IR far enough forward so as to not wash out the NV.
Just experiment and find out which works best for you and your rig.

Thanks guys. I've ordered more picatinny rails (I gotta Troy floating forearm) I'll put the ir light on the end and go to the range. I have another issue with my mic that I posted yesterday. I could use some help with it
