I just picked up the 1-5 power 384. I curious what is the max distance most guys are shooting? I've sighted mine in at 100 yards. Last night called in a coyote to about 150 yrds. He hung up there and wasn't coming any closer. I threw lead as he was bugging out but didn't connect. On low power it's was a tough shot at that distance, and zooming seems to degrade the image quick. Went out again this morning and stalked within 100 yards to a group of hogs. I was able to put down a couple. Anyone shooting over 100 yrds with their THOR HD?

If you enter the menu and find the zoom function you'll see it is factory set to standard. However, when trying to zoom in with it set on standard picture quality degrades extremely quickly. So, by switching to Extended mode you'll get "MUCH" better resolution for those distant creatures needing to get a pill prescribed "The above was Quoted from Doc" I also bought the 384 1.5 x 5, I have made shots up to 300yds with the balistic calculator OFF. I found that on the 702 update that the altimeter is malfunctioning & throwing off the balistic calculator so in order to go back to the previous firmware I had to rename the 676 firmware file to Thor hd.bin and re uplode the 676 I have also noticed with 676 installed the image is a lot cleaner. . . And I still prefer the balistic calculator turned OFF I guess I'm just old school after 10yrs in the Army when zooming in or out I too use the extended zoom function like Doc really recommended & also I found if you cover the lense & re nuc after every zoom change or start up you will get a crisp clean image restored it's also helpful to do it after the scope has been on for a while
