Got the advert email for the "coming soon" laser range finder and the Bluetooth handheld remote: X-TRAC. This may sound crazy, but would anyone at ATN consider adding the features of the hardware remote "clicker" to the Obsidian app(s)? It would seem to make perfect sense since some remote button functionality is already enabled in the Wi-Fi version and now that the new ver of Obsidian gives the user the choice of connecting with either Wi-Fi or BLE (Bluetooth ?), why not guys?
I know that ATN would rather have the $80, but come on guys, I've been waiting nearly a year for most of the features that I was sold, to be implemented or fixed! After a year, I still don't consider that ATN has delivered the device that they've been advertising since day one, although ATN was able to take the purchase price out of my account on DAY TWO (quickest part of all my dealings with ATN). How about giving the "loyalists" a big break.
Five on-screen "buttons" to mimic the navigation buttons on the scope and two "roller" controls like the hardware ZOOM roller (great idea, BTW) and a second "roller" control to quickly adjust the yardage (footage?).
I've got both of the X-SIGHT II models (3-14x and 5-20x), the external power kit and the ATN IR850 Pro. The 5-20x scope is still working OK (fingers crossed every time I use it), but the 3-14x I purchased first (last February) is still a brick, even after returning it to ATN for repair/replace.
I've learned not to get my hopes too high when dealing with ATN, but I guess I'm still somewhat of an optimist or I wouldn't even be writing this.
On a personal note (and I promise I won't turn this into too big of a rant), but I really wish that the decision makers at ATN would somehow realize when they are dealing with civilians and not some government procurement officer who's spending taxpayer money (so who cares if it doesn't work or if it's a year late). Sometimes they're dealing with a consumer and the end-user of the unit they sold and that that consumer is spending his or her hard-earned money on the product they've advertised and does not understand the mentality of: "close enough for government work, eh?".
