I have the ballistics, etc turned off and will get sighted in (which are in about 3 inch groups at 50 yards usually) and randomly it will go way off sight. The x and y axis look to stay the same but something is throwing the shots, again, randomly, either way... left and high, right and low, take your pick. There is no consistency. I have the sight on an ar-15 sbr and it is on tight enough to where it is extremely difficult to take off. Please list what I am missing. (and yes it shoots sub-moa with other scopes, using same ammo, 300 blk, etc etc..) Thanks for any help.

Midas - I don't think it's the scope. For it (The Scope) to place the crosshairs one place then another another doesn't make sense. The groups stated above are horrific at 50 yards which means "if" it is your scope the X & Y Axis are digitally moving radically after each shot. That HAS to be done manually. That being said take the scope off (I know difficult for me to do so too) and shoot with same set up nothing else changed and see what happens. Let us know!

Yessir I know, doesn't make sense at all. But I did put the old scope back on and it shoots fine. I put the thermal back on and i will have to sight it in again each time I start it up or even sometimes after its been on and come back to it after a few minutes. Again, the x and y axis remains the same but the groups will either open way up or just move in a complete different direction. Its not after each shot. I will literally get it sighted in and then 6 shots 10 shots, etc later, whatever, it will be somewhere else. Does the ballistic calculator change the x/y on its own ever? Like I said, it "shows" to be turned off. I am admittedly still learning this thing so i just wonder if its a setting that i think is correct but isnt? Am I supposed to sight in only at night? Or is daytime ok too? ( i use the toe warmers to home in on). It just seems it must be something simple and dumb on my part im missing.

Sight in day or night, it doesn't matter. The Ballistic Calculator doesn't change the the X or Y as you have to manually enter those when zeroing. The Ballistic Calculator will enable you to toggle over to the tape measure and enter a distance say 100 yds and with your bullet gun data already entered give you the ballistic change needed automatically allowing you to hit your new marked distance. Make sure to hit Save & Exit. It should be dead nuts where you left it if this is done. What weapon are you shooting with the scope out of curiosity?

midas - am curious if the scope has done this from the start or after a firmware update. If after a firmware update I would factory restore scope and do a format on your SD card. This will remove any possibility of any 'latent' data causing grief. If the scope continues on its random path after this it can only be a scope issue. One way or another you will get to a point where a path forward will become clear.

Dr.: It's a Diamondback 9.5" pistol in 300 Blackout. Been using 190 smk's and get on average groups of less than .25 at 50 yards consistently. Will work on a varmint load once this is fixed but want to use a load that is consistent for testing. Odin, it came with the current firmware so I didn't mess with that. I have seen somewhere else about the factory reset. As it came with the current firmware, it also came with someone else's profiles and such... So I will do a factory reset this evening and give it another go. And if that doesn't work, for sciences sake, I'll even try it on another rifle that will beat that group at 200 yards. Thanks again for ya'lls help and I'll let ya know what happens.

Alrighty, so today was cold, wet, and foggy but I had to give it a try between rains. I made one adjustment which was removing the scope and moving it forward one notch on the rail, and then did a factory reset.
I started with factory ammo and after several groupings, waiting in between groups, turning the scope off and on, zooming in and out, etc, i do believe it is working. It has stayed zeroed all day, even after trying my reloads which were even better. Other than it being wet and nasty instead of shooting on perfect weather days like last time, the only changes were moving the scope up one notch and the reset. So mystery solved I guess, will keep trying to make sure but I think it will be good. Thanks gents for all the help.

Glad it has worked out - nothing more frustrating than electronics not doing what you think they should.
