I recently purchased the power pack for use with 5-18 X-sight. The power pack has only powered the unit two times after many attempts to power it up. The unit was charged prior to its initial use. The x-sight works properly with AA batteries but will not turn on with power pack. I checked the function of the power pack with cell phone and it charges it fine so the battery and cord are fine. It would appear that the connection on the scope is bad or unit is just not seeing power on the usb port.

Make sure you tap the power button on the side of the battery pack prior to pressing the scopes power button.

badammo - check out the power outlet amps - if it is under 1.5 you will have issues as the scope by all accounts draws about this. If you have two power outlets on the battery, one should be 2A, and one 1A. Always use the 2A one if this is the case. Maybe post a pic of the battery if you still have issues.

It seems this unit needs the AA batteries installed to use the power pack. I forgot to take out the AA batteries and plugged in the power pack and the prompt came up if I want to use the USB power. Seems kind of odd but it now works great.

mmmm - interesting - am running mine only on external - no aa's installed at all. Having no issues either. Maybe there are slight differences between units in production.
