I have a X-sight 4 pro that I'm using now. but i also have a X-sight 2 that work great on internal batteries. as soon as i connect the external power source it shuts down. then it will not power back up without a hard reset. I have tried 3 different pack, several cords, blew out port, factory reset ans sill nothing. anyone have any ideas. If anyone has a older Firmware that I can try would be appreciated
Thanks in advance Steve
Firmware version is 2.1.07.779

Same issue as my father's, but I haven't had time to get my hands on it yet. If it can help you, I've uploaded the only two firmware files I had here: tinyurl.com/xsight-II-HD

Let me know if downgrading and then restoring to the latest firmware version works, I'll do the same for my father's device without wasting time.

Try to rename the file simply as "xsight.bin".

Try renaming the file "xsight2_2_1_07_767.bin" to "xsight2_2_1_07_780.bin," copy it to the microSD card, and then turn on the device (assuming it works with batteries and stays on; if so, perform this operation using batteries). Then, proceed in the same way with the file "xsight2_2_1_07_779.bin," renaming it as "xsight2_2_1_07_781.bin."

So I think we might have a hardware issue... maybe some component near the micro USB port or the port itself.

I do agree, I disassembled and found battery corrosion and water/moisture intrusion on several boards and components. Back in the day I was a electronic technician at component level but this thing is way over my head. I cleaned everything I could find and still same issue. For a 2nd scope it works to good to just throw away and I'm not gonna not feeding it AA batteries. I think I will machine a new battery compartment to hold 4 18650 3500MAH batteries with charge port. I did measure voltage at the USB port and it held the voltage while the device shut down. Like you said must be a component somewhere
