Are these Digital sights safe to use on break barrel air rifles? I have an ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 3-14 and a Hatsan 25 caliber break barrel air rifle. Is this a safe combination? I would hate to ruin my new digital scope. Thanks in advance.

G'day macgyver,
Both my ATN scopes are on centre-fire rifles, however I know how powerful the Hatsan air rifles are - I had one in .22 - it was a real cannon. My experience with a new Bushnell Banner scope mounted on an old FeinWerkBau [FWB] 127 [.22] break barrel rifle shooting at about 650 fps showed me how the double recoil from a break-barrel can destroy scopes. It took only three [3] shots for the internals of the scope to be destroyed - and the Banner scope was supposedly safe for use on break-barrel air rifles.

Thanks for the reply, Jim, What I thought. Talked to a guy at Pyramid Air who said the same thing. I saw a guy on U-Tube that had one on one of the new Hatsan 135 .30 caliber Carnivores. Guy was strong, had no problem to cock it, I struggle with mine, at 70 I don't have the strength I used to have. I love the gun, do have a scope on it rated for air rifles and so far, it works great. The scope is a Hammers and was cheap, around $55, so no biggie if it flies apart. Guess if I want a backyard gun, I can put my ATN scope on I had better be looking at a PCP. Roger
