I called them and this is what they emailed me. I have yet to try it out...
First, you need to download the "xsight4k_3_1_12_511.elf" firmware file. Use this link to access the folder and right click on the file to download it to your computer:
drive.google.com/drive/folders/141VLvlWVn5j6KEsbPrxIMyJIqU2awU58?usp=sharingAfter the file has been downloaded, you have to download and install the following program on your windows computer. This is the program that will allow you to install the .elf file into your ATN device. By clicking on this link, you will download the installer file to get the program up and running on your computer. Once downloaded, click on the installer file and follow the prompts during the installation procedure:
www.atncorp.com/fs/atnfirmwareupdate-win-1.0.2-setup.exeOnce the installation is finished, double click on the ATNFirmwareUpdate icon that was just installed on your desktop. After the program opens, Click on "Expert Mode" on the top right of the program, then type in the password: 'obsidian' and the Expert Mode will turn green and unlock other features.
Almost done...
You are now ready to start and complete the following steps in the program. Here is an explanation for each of them:
Step 1) Power off your device. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds in order to make sure the device is completely off. Make sure it is 30 seconds on the clock.
Step 2) Connect your device via a USB-C cable. Using the provided L-shaped cable is preferred, but you can use any other USB-C cable that you may have around.
Step 3) Select your device type. Ignore this step as it will become unavailable.
Special Note: Before we continue, make sure you can hear sounds from your computer. It will help you find out when the device has turned on into Firmware Reflashing Mode.
Step 4) Simultaneously press DOWN + POWER buttons to enter Firmware Flashing mode. In this step, you will press and hold both the POWER and the RANGEFINDER / DOWN buttons at the same time until you hear a connecting sound coming from the computer speakers. The down button is the one below the OK button. After the computer makes the chime, you can go ahead and release the buttons, then click on the "File" radio button below step 4 in the program.
Extra Info: This will make the device go into Firmware Reflashing Mode. In this mode the internal displays will NOT be on. Only the internal boards. It is normal that in this mode you can't see anything inside the binoculars.
Step 5) Select the FW elf file. Click "Find" and a new window will come up, then use it to find and open the .elf file that you downloaded at the beginning of this process.
Step 6) Press Update to begin FW update. The Update button should have turned blue at this point. If it did, then click on it and let it do its magic. However, if it didn't turn blue don't panic. All you have to do is completely close the program by clicking on the X on the top right of the program, and then go to your desktop and double click the ATNFirmwareUpdate icon to reopen it, after that, the update button should be blue.
After the program is finished, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds, disconnect the cable from the ATN device, and just click the power button once to turn it on like you would normally do when using it. This is where you need to test the device thoroughly to confirm if it is working as it should.
If after that, the device works as expected, then there is no need to try any other files, and at this point we could say it has been upgraded to the latest firmware version and corrected for any firmware malfunctions.
