I just bought my X-sight 4K pro and the instructions tell me to immediately update the firmware with a Windows 10 computer, which is a huge hassle since I don't own one of those. The website doesn't even tell me if there is a newer firmware. Mine came with 3.1.11.483. Is there a way to tell the latest firmware that's available, and what benefits that has?

First, I believe .483 is the latest update version. I have .451 which ATN told me is two versions ago.
Although not your question, ATN's update download process incorporating USB cable connection as opposed to micro SD card is frought with gliches. I spent 8 hours repeatedly trying to make it work and it fails, as others have noted.

I just received mine back today from being repaired and it has 3.1.11.507 so I would have thought that was the latest? I screwed mine up 2 weeks ago trying to update firmware and accidentally downloaded Binox firmware ….

3.1.12.510 is now also available for download from the ATN website. There seem to be minor changes. No huge changelog...

the firmware update process has been changed for the good. It is now just the typical: 1. Make sure that your scope is powered off. 2. download the bin file from the ATN site. 3. put the bin file in the root directory of your microSD card. 4. Insert the microSD card into its slot on the scope. 5. turn on the scope. 6. When the display comes up it will ask if you want to update the firmware and you toggle/select to "yes". 7. The display will then show the update progress and will reboot automatically when finished. 8. After reboot delete the firmware .bin file on the microSD card so that it doesnt try to update each time you turn on the scope. 9. It is recommended to reset the scope to factory settings after a successful firmware update.
I just did all this and it was easy. Now my ATN X-Sight 4K Pro is at 3.1.12.510. This is the latest version as of 11-14-2021. Dont know what the changes were, everything looks the same to me.

When I updated my 4k pro 3x14 to 483 I had problems because I was trying to use a Samsung usb c cable. For some reason the ATN cable is the only one to use.

I just got a new 4k Pro yesterday. It is loaded with firmware version 3.1.12.511. I'm assuming I'm up to date, as the latest version on the ATN website is 3.1.12.510. I am having trouble getting the compass to calibrate. I have read a few things to try, so I will give that a try.

Don't want to brick it on day 1

3.1.12.511 here as well. This thing constantly freezes so it's worthless to me. No reply from ATN in days. Guess it goes back to Amazon? Shane because I got the x-sight pro 4k, ABL1500, upgraded ir light, etc.. all at once. Is this typical or is .511 a beta and a fluke that I got it preloaded and .510 is stable?
Does ATN read these? Or is this site not ran by ATN? Seems like a lot of unanswered questions... Doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

A tip i found when you want to go back in firmware versions as mine came with the dreaded 511 bad version, to go back to 510 which works a treat is to trick the scope, because it wont install backwards so you download 510 rename the file so it says 512 pop that onto your sd card and when you put in your sd card it will think its a new version firmware and then it will install .. simple thats how i got rid of the dreaded 511 version.

It seems that there has not been reply to this. Does this mean this is OK to do, tricking it to believe it is FW 512?

Since we are talking firmware. Where does one find an update history to see the changes? Now that I know how to trick it to load any .bin file like above or you can just rename any .bin file to this xsight4k.bin I may want to go back. Where do you find old .bin file database for previous version of firmware? Thanks so much!!!!
