I'm new to the thermal scope world, so forgive the amateur hour.
Regardless of my thermal color pallet, everything is very grainy if I zoom at all (night time) even when I manually adjust focus. NUC'ing it helps a little but not much.
Also, is there a day setting or it's all the same?
Suggestions?

I am also interested in this, I have attached a few pictures from my factory refurbished THOR 4 640 4x40 for reference. The zoom is set to the lowest setting of 4X for all pictures attached (pictures have been cropped to allow me to attach them to the post). One of the pictures shows a coyote laying down roughly 60 yards away. The other two pictures show a comparison, both have graininess or distortion, of a coyote at 319 yards and one further in the background. The comparison photos demonstrate the issue I have been having where my scope will go from the grainy view to a very hazy or foggy look in which I am unable to locate any heat traces in a short amount of time. In these comparison photos I was unable to locate the coyotes but a minute later they magically appeared. (Side note: the coyotes were originally located using a spotlight but after looking through my scope nothing appeared. While continuing to see them through the spotlight they eventually appeared in my field of view). As you can see the image quality is very poor and there are distinct lines or graininess within the scope image. I have tried playing around with the brightness, contrast, thermal sensitivity, color palette settings, and using the NUC function with no luck. For Reference these pictures were taken in the following conditions with the scope settings shown below: Outside conditions: Clear and 28F Contrast: High Thermal Sensitivity: 3 Color Palette: White Hot Sun Shade was removed earlier in the night in attempt to mitigate the poor image quality. I updated my scope on 12/29/2021 with the latest firmware version (3.3.12.510) which has not corrected the issue. The range shown in the photos is from my ABL 1500 which is brand new from the factory that arrived a few days ago. Any input on these problems would be appreciated!
