A video I watched, the person said that you should not use an sd card larger that 16 GB. My scope cape with a 64 GB card. 32 GB cards are just about the smallest I can find. I am wondering how crucial the Micro sd card is to the function of the scope and is there a maximum size that will function in the scope? Sd cards are getting bigger every day. Should I get a couple of smaller ones just to have around?

No reason to use a smaller card than 64GB, his reasoning was it was too difficult to find a specific video with a large capacity card, too many videos to sort through. That is crap, no one is forcing you to store that many videos on your card. In my manual it says 4 t0 64GB, nothing about 128GB. Don't have a 128GB card to try.

Just cause you can doesn't mean you should. Hardware and or software limitations in the device could corrupt files on larger cards or cause recording issues to begin with.
For $16 you can get a 4K capable 64gb card with these specs, 170MB/s, C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, A2, and ensure everything works properly.
