Hello all First post here. My searches have brought up this topic and some who say they found an answer, but I can't find any thread that actually says what the answer is. I think I'm having issues w/the gyro. I am thinking it needs to be "woken up". These gyro features are nice, but not required, so I've been shooting pigs as is, but sure would like to get the full functionality. Here are my symptoms, I have a hunch they are all related. - The compass is stuck on north
- Firing when RAV is on shuts the unit off immediately (manual recording works)
- The pitch and camber (correct name?) on the left/right of screen are stuck at 0
There may be a better way, I have tried spinning the device fast and hard but as I am only so limber, my technique probably isn't great. If you're looking through the reticle (which you're not when spinning it, just for illustration purposes), I can spin it 180* up/down and 180* left/right. I find the clockwise/counter clockwise motion difficult but do my best. Perhaps a tip here? Or some other way of waking up the gyro? I also did a factory reset and the FW that came with it is higher version than what is available for download (…...081 instead of …...079). Any help? EDIT: and the rangefinder won't calculate the step 1 (or "this is the top") step, so it never proceeds to the step 2 (this is the bottom). My thinking is this uses the tilt to calculate and is therefore also gyro related.

Read the instructions , you have to rotate the scope to get your gyro going , it's in the instructions .

Speaking of reading... as stated in my post, I tried rotating it. I used the word "spinning".
Anyway, tech support agrees it's broken and have shipped it back under warranty. They are telling me 7-10 business days once they receive it (which is fine).
I'll update once I get it back.

Sorry you're having such PIA issues. When they work right, and are set up correctly, they are truly awesome scopes. Definitely sounded to me like it required a trip back to ATN for some factory Loving. Hope they can fix it. I use a separate laser range finder for mine that's far more accurate than one based on average animal size. But do I really like my HD 4~20. Especially on nite ventures in search of the elusive yotes. Use mine mostly on my Ravin R20 crossbow. 1" groups at 100 yards. Even at nite. Seriously deadly. There is the inherent several milisecond video lag that has caught me off guard a time or two when shooting at fast movers. I'm pulling the trigger, and the target is actually no longer there. Frustrating sometimes. But still fun being able to hunt in total darkness. Hope everything works out for you.

I sent it in May 27. I called today (June 11) and was told:
They confirmed received it. (On June 4 actually). It is being evaluated... Step 1 was making sure no obvious external damage and it's now off to a more detailed evaluation. So I got a few more days. They mentioned if I call back in another week, they'll have a better idea of what's going on with it and would then have a better idea of when I'd get it back. I'll update when I find out more. Someone might find this thread useful.

Got an email update today that the item is on backorder and they expect to ship it in 5-10 days...
This suggests, to me, they are replacing it with a new one vs fixing it. Which is fine. Just sharing what I heard w/the community.
The main point is that they are supporting their products. Which is awesome.

I ended up getting the x-sight back end of June, early July.
With Covid, working from home, remote school, and a ton of hurricane rain, I only now got to opening this box.
It sighted in with just one shot and a fine tune at another 100 yd back. But exact same problem. The gyros are not waking up. I watch the ATN video, I spin it in 3 axis wiht it powered on, powered off, all of this.
There is no error on the screen. It just stuck on North. The left and right meters stay at 0 degrees. So I am disappointed. Then I checked the serial number and realized they sent me the same unit back. There was no explanation, I have no idea if they did anything.
I've sent another message and will try calling. It should still be under warranty but sheesh. Am I doing it wrong? Seems simple enough. Am I going to have to pay shipping, again.
I wouldn't care but I really want to use the RAV feature. The rest of the features would be nice (and of course the principle of the thing)...
Will update as the saga unfolds.

Talked on phone w/support today.
Apparently, my original send in is labeled as "no issues found". What a load....
I have been given a new RTN number/shipping label.
Will send it back in, again.

Just updating, they still have the unit. This is the second time the unit has been sent in for repairs (the first time they didn't do anything, just sent it back for some reason).
It's basically been in ATN hands for as long as i've "owned" it (since May of 2020) counting both send ins (I've had it in my hands for a few weeks total). The warranty is going to expire before I even get to use it... I'm asking for a new warranty.
I am very unhappy with the entire experience.
I don't know why they are over complicating this. Just send a replacement.
Not a fan of this nonsense.

Started this journey with a broken X- Sight II HD 3x-15 in May 2020.
Now in January of 2021, after several unanswered attempts, I talked to a human in support who expressed it is unrepairable and they should've sent me a replacement but it's "been sitting". Very courteous person, the conversation was pleasant. No point in yelling about it, but this took way too long.
Anyway, got a shipping confirmation and a receipt for purchase (I take this to mean a fresh warranty) for a ATN X-SIGHT 4K PRO 3-14X PRO DAY&NIGHT SMART HD RIFLE SCOPE
I mean, yay, of course. But 9 months and two mail-ins. Sheesh. Of course, this is during COVID and all the other 2020 nonsense... so ya know, hard times and all. So I'm not holding a grudge here.
I'll update after I receive the replacement. I'll be tickled if it works.

The compass isn't working as expected, I'll start a different thread on that but just wanted to close this one out saying the X-Sight 4k Pro is pretty sweet. The battery solution alone is worth it compared to the previous model I had.
