Hi guys, How about a comparative with the oldest BINOX HD? I have the old Binox HD and the new Binox 4k, and my experience it's no so good. In day light they are fantastic, after sunset (with a little bit of light) they are great, but in totally dark they are awful. The image of the newest 4K at totally dark is poor, with to many noise and less light then the Binox HD. With the new ones I can't see beyond 150yrds, but with the old ones I can see perfectly beyond 300yrds with a bright image. I also try to take some pictures in totally dark to show ATN but until that is not good. In the bino I see a bad image and when I take a picture it comes tottaly black. Then I make a movie and it seems to show what I see in the bino. Whats your opinion about that?

Hello,
I own the old HD and new 4K BinoX. I have the same experience in totally darkness. The old HD BinoX is much better. Below the answer from ATN support regarding this issue:
Question:
"Last week I bought the new BinoX 4K binoculars, so I own now the BinoX 4K and HD binoculars. I'm very impressed of the laser rangefinder, battery life and the day light mode. The improvement of this features is huge comparing to the BinoX HD version. But I'm disappointed about the night vision mode. The range in darkness in comparison to the BinoX HD is worse. Maybe I did something wrong during the binoculars settings in system menu? Could you give me some hints how to adjust the night vision mode? The BinoX HD allows to focus the IR illuminator beam, this adjustment is missing in the new 4K binoculars - could it be the reason why the 4K binoculars range in darkness is worse?"
ATN answer:
"The binox-4k allows you to adjust the IR intensity, the unit may be set in a low IR mode, also try resetting/calibration the unit as it could potentially be an issue with the night vision settings inside the binoculars from the original installation. However your BinoX-4K's Night vision when operating correctly should have no issues out performing the binoxs-HD"

I’m have the same problem, and it’s not adjustable, at 100yrd maximum the Binox 4K are much better then Binox HD, but beyond that they are awful, we can’t see almost nothing. ATN has to make a new firmware to improve the image or improve the way that the Binox catch the IR light, so we can have a clear image like the old ones. If ATN think’s that I’m wrong please send us a image from the Binox 4K in totally darkness with the IR in position 5 at 150 yards or 200yards. With that image we can see that we are wrong. In YouTube we have some movies but they are using two IR so the image we see is not the same.

I made a comparison between the binox HD and 4K. Attached you can find the pictures from both binos that I did.The old Binox HD is much better than the new 4K. The pictures from HD are clear and bright. Attachments:

I sended the comparison pictures from both binos to ATN support. They answered me that probably the Ir light is damaged . Tomorrow I will send the Bionx 4K to ATN for inspection.

When you have the bino again, please tell us how are they. If it was a IR failure or if was everything alright and the problem is that the new 4K are worst then the HD. Thanks and good luck

Thanks and good luck Mine are also terrible at night it’s like the ir isn’t set up square against hole... and not letting full power of ir out! I jus have a small circle that’s visible rest of screen is black like ir is on spotlight and needs be in a flood mode

I had to reset my BinoX 4k because it froze up and would not turn off and when I did two new developments. First the rangefinder now does not work and in night vision I too have a small circle of view as opposed to full screen that I had before the reboot.

Other thing it might be wrong is the zoom! When you compare it with the old ones the minimum zoom (4x) in the new Binox 4K is like the (6x) in the old ones. Maybe that influence in the bad image at night!

Has any one had any luck with night vision issues....? If so please let me know. I have sent half a dozen emails to support and left multiple voicemails and never get a response... not really sure how to get help? I’m starting to feel like the company doesn’t even exist 🤔

I see this is quite an old thread... that said, I too am disappointed in the clarity of the night vision. Maybe my expectations of a $900 pair of binoculars is too high? Then again, my $85 trail camera takes better photos.
