Hold your power button down for about 60 seconds. The 15 second recommendation doesn't always work.

I had the same problem. I downloaded the PC-based application to force a firmware re-load and it fixed it.

Thank you. I've done it many times. But I failed.
Proceeding with the computer and end in failure.

When connecting a data line to a 4k pro Change the USB port and try it many times and succeed!

DEAR ATN CUSTOMERS, It has come to our attention that a small percentage of users have experienced a problem after updating the X-Sight 4K Firmware to 436. We truly apologize for this and have a solution for you. If you are one of the few customers that have unfortunately experienced an issue with the update, please follow the outlined process to resolve the problem. Use this Link Click Here to download a Firmware Bug Fix version. Use the standard process to install the Bug Fix on your scope using the micro SD card. After the update completes, erase the bug fix bin file from the micro SD card. Download a fresh version of Firmware 436 and install it on your scope using the micro SD card. This should solve the non-responsive button and absence of widgets and reticle from the home screen. This should resolve the problems you have experienced with the X-Sight 4K. If you are still having problems with the update, please contact our Customer Support team and they can assist you with this process. Download firmware for digital rifle scopes and binoculars (firmware being the built-in software that runs your devices). Before proceeding please read instructions below. No downloads are available for products that are not listed.
That's how we got it done.~^^
You're back in perfect condition.

How is a bug fix supposed to be done if the scope wont do anything from the SD card. Then from the USB version, the only file available is what the program finds from the web. New to the scope. Not new to proprietary programs and firmware crap. The directions are about atrocious as well.

I held my button down a couple of seconds until my scope powered up ( of course with a black screen instead of blank white it will be hard to tell if it is on .) Then I let the battery drain completely down which reset the scope .

There is an option in the pc-based application to select a file. At first I thought it would only install a version found on the web but then figured out that was not the case. This is the way to push an update if no buttons or screen are working. Actually I think you do need to turn the scope on by holding the power and down buttons simultaneously to put it in USB mode. I guess that means the buttons need to be working to some extent. If you can hear the scope click when you turn it on and click when it goes off after holding the power button for 15 seconds or longer that's good news.
I've had several issues with my scope and would be happy to help further if possible. Let me know exactly what the functional state of your scope is. BTW - I also reset the scope once by holding the power middle and down button simultaneously for something like 30 seconds. So far I've been able to get it unfrozen and fix all issues without sending it in or waiting for my battery to drain. Good luck!

I figured out how to use the expert mode and also pick a file other than an .elf. Not sure why they didn’t fix that deal either. They need .bin files. Anyway , currently scope is still without crosshairs and widget menu info. Basically no info at all on screen. The procedure directions for bug fix suck to say the least.. I really want this scope to work. It feels well built and offers way more functionality than any other option for even half the price. And if there is something for even double the cost point me in that direction before my return time runs out. Back on topic, have installed the 4K bug fix or at least tried to install, the scope won’t reboot on its own after the 4K bug fix. Then I reload the full firmware via usb and the scope will power on but still no menu or crosshairs or anything, any further help would be awesome.

This is good to know. It sounds like there are scenarios where everything can get wedged such that the scope must drain the battery to get reset.
Question: If sleep mode is on do you see this causing an issue? I set sleep mode to 1 min and observed that if I did not move the scope then it either powered down or shut off the screen after 1 minute had elapsed. Maybe it's just a screen saver mode and the scope is still powered up. Don't know. Good info.!
Cheers!

I had all of this problems and now I am back with scope working (at home). Please check the link below for know-how. Hope that would help atnowners.com/thread/2582/sight-4k-pro-freezing-problemBe sure that you do the factory reset and forced power off as ATN recommends in their instructions when upgrading firmware. BTW, I found BUG firmware very helpful as without running it I can't connect ABL1500 and x-Trac. After I run it(before loading last firware), everything connects flawlessly. Ben

Good day, OSW420
Im having problems with the X sight 4K pro screen went black, downloaded the newest update (xsight4k3.1.12.510), formatted the SSD card, copied the update to the SSD card, inserted the SSD card tried powering on the scope nothing happens, powered it off by holding button in for 10/15 seconds, still nothing.
what do I do next ?
"Use this Link Click Here to download a Firmware Bug Fix version" where is this link ? will you be able to send it to me? My Email is (tjpverwey@gmail.com) I'm having problems with the ABL it connects and after 1or 2 range findings it disconnects and now it does not want to reconnect ? and now this... that the screen went black. ( I can hear the scope turning on and then off holding the power button. this feels like a kid's toy.... always something that never works.
I need to get this fixed, it is a great scope it has extremely good night sight good revolutions on the screen (4K) all I'm complaining about is the damned Software problems.
Thank you, I'll appreciate your Help.

Go to the firmware part of the ATN site and scroll to the bottom of the screen. There is a Factory Restore option that you should be able to use. You will need a Win 10 machine to make it work.
