My scope is already hanging off the back of the rail about a half inch. Is there some type of rail extension i could mount to the existing rail to move the scope back further and also lower it a half inch or so? I found some that would extend it back but would also raise it higher and I definitely dont wand to do that, lower would be better.

Offset ring mount such as: Monstrum Slim Profile Series Offset Cantilever Picatinny Scope Mount 30 mm Diameter, t's on Amazon for under $ 30. ATN sells one for around $100 that is a quick detach so you can move it from gun to gun.

IMHO The ATN is made for an AR platform. I had my XS2 on my Ruger American in 6.5 Cre and it was not comfortable. I had to stretch to get my eye on it. The BC was amazing as I was taking farther shots and hitting but the hold was difficult and uncomfortable. You have to get your eye on the boot to work properly.
So I moved it or an AR platform in a 300BO. I mainly hunt hogs with it. Less recoil, faster 2nd, 3rd and so on acquisition and the eye relief is perfect.
I ended up putting a Vortex Diamond Back Tactical on the 6.5 and enjoy both much more. Now I am learning long range shots during the day. With my reloading it is getting g really fun and crazy accurate. Learning my clicks and MOA is exciting as it progresses.
I take both with me when I go hunt (from my truck bed). So weight is not an issue. Now I have choices depending on my location and set up. If I am under 200 it’s the ATN/AR. If it’s 250 it’s the Ruger and I can go for 2fers. Another fun challenge.
I love my ATN but it’s not a do all for every application.
My typical deer hunts are <100 yards. So the ATN/AR is great and I get to record the hunt (day time). If they don’t come in I hang out and move to NV and wait for Miss Piggy.
The idea is to have fun and fill freezers. Not be a Ninja Hunter.
