Hi folks, after one week having the binox I finally wanted to do the firmware update as told in the papers that came with the device... Downloaded the latest firmware, renamed it to binox.bin and put it on sd card, put sd card in binox and pressed start... The firmware updated as it was supposed to do... after the promised restart the device refuses any inputs. No zoom, no IR, no menu.... nothing works... It just shows the normal picture. All widgets are frozen. So now i have a day only not zooming binox that needs to be shut off by removing batteries...
I just took a look at the binox.bin file with a hex editor, inside I found text that it is a linux system, kernel 2.6.38.8. Since I use openSUse Linux on one machine here at home I wonder, if it is possible to start a console on the binox or log into it remotely to see what is wrong...
I donĀ“t want to lose guarantee so I plan to send it in for service...
Did anyone fixed this problem before all alone without sending it to service?
Cheers Rollo

Did you perform a factory reset before using the device?

I got it back after almost 3 month by the way. And everything, I sent in (original packing stuff, manual, lens caps etc.) are gone... Now I only got the naked Binox left... not funny
