I recently picked up an experienced X sight 3-12 from a friend and I am trying to get an external battery to work. I'm not using the ATN battery pack, but have tried 2 different battery packs and even my phone charger (2amp). I make sure the battery is turned on before I hit the on button on my scope. I get a blue screen and the text USB connecting. Does the 3-12 even take an external battery? If so, what else do I try?

Not sure about the XS1, but you could try removing internal batteries - my XS2 has issues if I try to run it with internals present, but works well when they are removed. Other possibility could be the usb connection wire, if it is too lightly built, this also can give problems.

I have a number of power packs and 2amp leads but still won't power on. If u resolve it please let me know.
