I have had a ATN X sight 3-12 for a while and have always been frustrated with the day time picture. It has the typical day time issue of washing out or too bright. I have bought a butler creek cap and 1/2’’ drilled a hole in it. That solved the issue, so I purchased a dedicated upper for my AR10 for it. Then I did the firmware update (1.8.08.352). Now it intermittently washes out during the day again. If, I cover a portion of the hole it will get a picture. Since the update, the buttons are not working intermittently. If you tap the enter button it may or may not work. I called ATN and they asked if I restarted the scope after the update, which I did. Other then offering me a $100.00 discount off retail to purchase a new X Sight II, they didn’t have any other suggestions. Offering a $100.00 is very nice and they certainly didn’t have to do it. But, after a quick google search, I found a new X Sight II for $499.00, which is the same price as I would pay with the discount... I have three other guys I hunt with that have the X Sight II and like it. And my X Sight worked fine at night, until I did the update. I know this is an old, entry level scope. But, it worked until I did the update. Can I go back to an older firmware?

If you can get the 2. Use the one on another rig for friends to use.
I have my XS2 on a 6.5Cre and a Sightmark on an M4. When someone who doesn’t do NV hunts goes with us it’s a loaner.
Also the smaller rig is good around the house.
